The job of SCRUM MASTER (M/F)
Scrum is an agile project management method that aims to improve the productivity of a team in an IT department and thus respond more quickly to technological developments and consumer demands.
The scrum master is a bit like the conductor of the technical teams to make the IT projects succeed.
He must first make his team understand and adhere to Scrum. Like in a game, Scrum has rules and practices that the Scrum master must teach to his team. Supervise, support and manage the know-how of the technical teams, within the framework of the AGILE method (organization of developments, sprints, retrospections, daily meetings, etc.).
He is not a manager. The Scrum master has the same hierarchical level as the members of his team.
He is a real coach in charge of helping the team to be autonomous and to improve continuously.
He is not there to give orders, assign tasks or impose solutions to a problem, but he must always keep the team's objectives in mind and subtly push them in the right direction.
The scrum master acts as a facilitator and helps the team members to stimulate their creativity and bring out solutions by themselves.
It is also there to protect the team from external problems that could disrupt their concentration and functioning.
It works to raise awareness among other departments in order to show the interest of this method, to anticipate possible obstacles and sometimes to help them transform their own working methods.
The scrum master must be a good listener and have an excellent IT culture. Empathy, humility and diplomacy are necessary qualities to make a good scrum master.
