The job of QUALITY ENGINEER (M/F)
The tester locates and identifies anomalies and bugs in a software program or application before its publication. (tester / Quality assurance - QA)
Missions:
- Mastery of programming languages: Scala, Java, Python, Shell, VBA
- Detect anomalies as the software is being developed by performing precise checks on the functionalities, which are listed in a specification.
- Set up a diagnostic schedule for the functionalities, follow it and make it available to the client.
- Establish operational tactics, create tools for testing and analyzing the results found, with the aim of writing accurate reviews of the software studied.
- Ensure that the changes are made according to the specifications.
The skills
- The tester must take into account the stages of development of a software and present a report of astonishment.
- The tester must be rigorous and have a strong ability to concentrate, and know how to work alone or in a team.
- The tester must also master the software in both French and English.
- Good communicator and organized, the tester must plan and follow the evolution of the tests and report on them according to the specifications.
Developments
The testing profession is less and less accessible to self-taught people. More selective, it is also more progressive than before.
The tester can become the manager of a team and supervise the operational part. Among the possible positions, the function of technical director at software publishers is the most popular.
